Welcome to Spooksville finds The Brecknocks wandering into the darker end of town for Halloween — taking a collection of spooky favourites and dragging them through their own rough-edged mix of guitars, drums and British indie attitude.
From haunted streets and things that go bump in the night to songs about the sort of people you probably shouldn't follow home, it's Halloween — Brecknocks style.
Welcome to Spooksville. Population: questionable.
ABOUT
The Brecknocks are a Camden-born recording project from producer Wayne Bennett, built around guitars, drums and a distinctly British sense of mischief.
Taking songs from different eras and pulling them into their own world, The Brecknocks favour character over imitation — sometimes louder, sometimes stranger, and usually sounding like they might have been worked out in the back room of a North London pub.
From the debut album Under The Arches to the Halloween detour Welcome to Spooksville, the project treats familiar songs as starting points rather than instructions.
The Brecknocks are a recording project created, produced, performed and managed by Wayne "Lotek" Bennett.
